Soludo Support Group Holds Victory Party In Awka, Sets Up Members Welfare Scheme

Professor Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center, Awka, bubbled with joy from Members of Soludo Support Group, SSG, supporters and well-wishers, felicitating with the Governor-elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, for taking the lead in the Anambra gubernatorial election.

 

Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that during the event tagged “Soludo’s Victory Party”, Members Welfare Scheme was initiated.

Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Governor-elect, Dr. Onyekachuwku Ibezim applauded the group, calling on as many as are remembered through the welfare scheme to remember others even as he said that the election victory truly belongs to the poor masses who worked assiduously for the Soludo project.

 

While welcoming more of advice than criticism for the incoming government, Dr. Ibezim asked everyone to continue to support Governor Willie Obiano’s administration to finish well, expressing optimism that they will start on a very strong note, come March 17th 2022.

Chairman on the Occasion and Chief Launcher, Chief Innocent Akuvue, described the venture of thinking about welfare of members as innovative that should be emulated, noting that people who worked for Professor Soludo’s victory deserve to benefit from their labour.

 

The Convener of SSG, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye who thanked God for Professor Soludo’s victory, extolled the Governor, the All-Progressives Grand Alliance  members and supporters who have been supporting the Soludo project from inception and for believing in the cause and extolled Professor Soludo for allowing his name to be used.

Speaking to the ABS, the Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr. Paschal Agbodike, Traditional Ruler of Umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka, Managing Director of Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, Chief Jude Emecheta and an APGA Chieftain, Chief Azubuike Ekweozor from Umuawulu community, commended the initiative of catering for the welfare of members of SSG, asking other Support groups to emulate the initiative.

In attendance were the member representing Njikoka Constituency Two at the state House of Assembly, Sir Pete Ibida, Transition Committee Chairman for Idemili North Council Area, Mr. Asha Nnabuife, Board of Trustees Chairman and members of the Support Group, among others.
