Workers union SAMWU at Sol Plaatjie Municipality in Kimberley in the Northern Cape has vowed to leave no stone unturned in ensuring all their members receive their salaries. Some workers affiliated to the union downed tools after they did not receive their monthly salaries.
The union says it is concerned that this is not happening for the first time.
“We had an engagement with payroll as well as CFO to check what went wrong. We will wait and see as what will be the outcome be regarding this matter. We as the union, we are treating this matter as urgency. So we are waiting to get the final outcome so that we report to our members,” says SAMWU chairperson at Sol Plaatjie municipality Dailey Semau.
