Kamilla Belyatskaya, a 24-year-old from Russia, was filming herself on her pink yoga mat just moments before the devastating wave hit, dragging her into the sea.

In harrowing footage, she can be seen being pulled into the turbulent waters, with the strong current violently tossing her about.

Kamilla’s Love for Koh Samui

Kamilla, who hailed from Novosibirsk in Russia, had been visiting Thailand’s second-largest island with her boyfriend.

Authorities have launched a marine search and rescue operation to locate the missing man who attempted to rescue Kamilla.

Chaiyaporn Subprasert, head of the Samui Rescue Centre, confirmed that warning systems were in place across the island, especially in high-risk areas like Chaweng and Lamai beaches.
