Russia has accused Ukrainian forces of carrying out thousands of attacks on civilian areas over the past week, claiming the strikes caused significant casualties and damage across several regions.

The allegations were made by Rodion Miroshnik, Russia’s Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who presented figures that Moscow says reflect the impact of Ukrainian military operations on Russian-controlled and Russian territory.

Moscow Reports Hundreds of Daily Attacks

According to Miroshnik, Ukrainian forces conducted an average of approximately 850 strikes each day against civilian locations during the reporting period.

He alleged that the attacks were deliberately aimed at disrupting everyday life by targeting non-military infrastructure and civilian populations.

The claims have not been independently verified, and Ukraine has not publicly responded to the specific figures cited in the statement.

Civilian Infrastructure Among Reported Targets

Russian officials said the reported attacks affected a wide range of civilian facilities.

According to the statement, passenger transportation, including scheduled buses, came under repeated attack, while residential buildings, social infrastructure and energy facilities also sustained damage during the week.

Moscow characterized the incidents as deliberate attacks against civilians.

Russia Details Casualty Figures

Miroshnik said that between July 6 and July 12, a total of 40 civilians, including one child, were killed in the reported attacks.

He added that another 272 people, including 13 children, were injured during the same period. Overall, the Russian official claimed that more than 310 civilians were killed or wounded over the course of the week.

Regions Most Affected

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry representative, the largest numbers of civilian casualties were recorded in the Belgorod region, the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, and the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

Russia also alleged that Ukrainian forces fired at least 5,935 rounds of ammunition at civilian sites during the reporting period.

Competing Accounts Continue

The latest allegations form part of the ongoing exchange of accusations between Russia and Ukraine over attacks on civilian areas during the conflict.

Russia maintains that Ukrainian forces are responsible for repeated strikes on civilian infrastructure, while Ukraine has consistently accused Russian forces of carrying out widespread attacks on civilian targets and has rejected Moscow’s broader claims regarding the conduct of its military operations.
