Rivers United Crashes Out Of CAF Confederation Cup

Rivers United has been evicted from this season’s TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup after losing 1-0 to Al Masry of Egypt on Sunday.

Rivers United exited from the playoffs on away goals rule after as the first leg had ended 2-1.

Enyimba is now the only Nigeria team that could reach the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup as they defeated Al Ittihad 2-0 at the Enyimba Stadium in the second leg.

The first leg was yet to be played as CAF is yet to fix a date and venue for the game.

With the playoffs completed, Sfaxien of Tunisia, RS Berkane of Morocco, JS Saoura of Algeria and Zanaco of Zambia are throng to the group stage.

The quartet completed a 14-teams pack in the mini-league stage, with the last two seats to be determined between Al Ittihad (Libya) – Enyimba (Nigeria) and JS Kabylie (Algeria) – Royal Leopards (Eswatini).
