Proteas make many changes for series decider at Oval

– Cape Town The Proteas have made four alterations to their starting eleven for Thursday’s series-deciding third Test against England at the Oval.

Ben Stokes, captain of England, won the toss and elected to field the Proteas.

Ryan Rickleton replaces the injured Rassie van der Dussen, and Khaya Zondo replaces Aiden Markram, who was dropped.

Wiaan Mulder, a late replacement for Simon Harmer, replaces Van der Dussen, while Marco Jansen replaces Lungi Ngidi, who is rested due to a moderate hamstring injury.

Jonny Bairstow’s injury necessitates England to make one change to the team that leveled the series at Old Trafford, with Harry Brook replacing the injured Jonny Bairstow.

 

Dean Elgar(c), Sarel Erwee, Keegan Petersen, Ryan Rickelton, Khaya Zondo, Kyle Verreynne(w), Wiaan Mulder, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, and Anrich Nortje represent South Africa.

Alex Lees, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (captain), Ben Foakes (wicketkeeper), Stuart Broad, Ollie Robinson, Jack Leach, and James Anderson represent England.
