Earthshot Prize in Singapore: Prince William’s Arrival and Honoring Remembrance Day

Prince William’s Warm Welcome in Singapore

Prince William, the heir to the British throne, found himself blushing when a royal fan in Singapore praised him for his looks as he arrived in the country.

His visit to Singapore is in connection with the third annual Earthshot Prize, an environmental award initiative. Hundreds of adoring fans gathered at the Jewel Changi Airport to welcome him.

A Rock Star Welcome

Upon his arrival, Prince William was given a rock star welcome by the public. Royal fans eagerly waved Union Jack flags and displayed homemade signs to show their support.

Amid the warm reception, one fan stood out by calling the Prince “so handsome,” leaving William modestly blushing and chuckling in response.

Regal Appearance and Honoring Remembrance Day

Prince William was impeccably dressed in a crisp black suit, complemented by a navy tie for his appearance in Singapore.

In anticipation of Armistice Day on November 11, he paid tribute to those who fought in the World Wars by pinning a Remembrance Day poppy to his suit blazer.

Eco-Royal’s Role

During his visit, Prince William will play a significant role in the Earthshot Prize ceremony. He will announce the next group of companies and inventors to receive £1 million awards for their environmental initiatives.

William also engaged with children and took selfies with airport visitors as he walked through the airport with Sim Ann, Singapore’s foreign affairs minister.

Support for Earthshot and Princess Diana’s Role

One finalist for the prestigious Earthshot Prize praised Prince William as “the bigger cheerleader for the planet.” Notably, Princess Diana will remain at home with the children, helping Prince George prepare for important exams while William fulfills his duties.

A Celebratory Moment

To mark the arrival of the Earthshot Prize in Singapore, the Jewel complex within the airport will illuminate its 40-meter rain vortex, the world’s largest indoor waterfall, in green. Jewel, which opened in 2019, is a nature-themed entertainment and retail complex.

William’s Enthusiastic Return

Prince William expressed his excitement about being back in Singapore through his social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter).

He praised Singapore’s commitment to environmental innovation and expressed gratitude to the Singaporean people for hosting the event.

Earthshot Prize Week

William’s arrival signals the start of Earthshot Week, featuring a series of events bringing together businesses, investors, past winners, and current finalists to accelerate environmental solutions.

The Earthshot Prize ceremony on November 7 will be hosted by Sterling K Brown and Hannah Waddingham, with performances and appearances from notable figures like Bebe Rexha and Sir David Attenborough.
