Prince Harry Surprises Audience at California Premiere of His Netflix Documentary ‘Heart of Invictus

Prince Harry made a surprise appearance at the California premiere of his new Netflix documentary, “Heart of Invictus.”

The Duke of Sussex arrived at the screening in Chula Vista, San Diego county, to the delight of veterans and their families who had gathered to watch the series.

In a jovial mood, he quipped with the audience, praising them for dressing up for the occasion.

About “Heart of Invictus”

The documentary, consisting of five episodes, follows veterans as they prepare for the Invictus Games, a sporting competition for wounded armed forces personnel that Prince Harry established in 2014.

The premiere, believed to have been arranged by Netflix and Prince Harry’s organization Archewell, offered attendees a sneak peek at two episodes.

The full series was set for release on Netflix.

Prince Harry’s Role as Executive Producer

Prince Harry serves as an executive producer for the show, and there are high expectations for its success after his deal with Spotify for Meghan’s Archetypes podcast concluded after just one series this summer.

Their previous Netflix show, “Harry & Meghan,” a documentary series about their relationship, touched on topics like the Royal Family and their decision to move to California.

Promotional Material and Harry’s Involvement

Prince Harry has been actively promoting the new series, and he was featured prominently in Netflix’s trailer.

In the trailer, he emphasized the importance of the Invictus Games in aiding the recovery and reintegration of injured veterans into communities.

The new series was strategically timed ahead of next month’s Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany, scheduled for September 9.

Rita Ora, a longtime friend of Harry, will perform at the closing ceremony, where Harry is expected to deliver an emotional speech.

Harry and Meghan’s Attendance at the Invictus Games

Both Harry and Meghan are planning to attend the event.

Harry founded the Invictus Games after being inspired by the Warrior Games in the United States.

In a video message recorded before his departure for Japan, Harry expressed excitement for the event and praised the athletes for their determination on their healing journeys.

He affirmed his commitment to the Games, calling it a “home for respect.”

Harry’s Expected Presence Throughout the Games

Reportedly, Prince Harry will be in Dusseldorf for the entirety of the games, while Meghan is expected to attend around half of it, including her husband’s speech at the closing ceremony, according to a source cited by the Rheinische Post.
