Prince Harry ‘not singing the national anthem’ during Queen’s funeral

Some Twitter users have criticized Prince Harry for allegedly not singing the national anthem during a moment at the Queen’s burial in Westminster Abbey, London.

Prince Harry appeared to stand exactly behind his father, King Charles III, with his lips slightly open during the singing of God Save the King.

Others, however, adopted a more sympathetic view, suggesting that he was softly mouthing the words in a way that the television cameras did not pick up, or that he was too overcome with emotion to sing.

Regardless, Twitter exploded with remarks regarding the Prince’s apparent lack of singing throughout the hour-long somber memorial service.

One Twitter user accused the Prince of displaying “disrespect”: “I observed, as will many others”

According to one commenter, Harry’s seeming quiet would have dissatisfied his father. They exclaimed, “So much for backing the King!

Others, however, believed that people were being overly critical of Prince Harry, who resides in America with the Duchess of Sussex and their children.

A supporter stated, “To be honest, it appears that his lips are moving, albeit very little.”

One individual appeared enraged by a troll’s suggestion that he purposefully disregarded his family.

He was in fact singing. But you simply refused to see it!’ they exclaimed.

As usual, even during the most solemn occasions, there were others who saw it acceptable to make light of the situation.

Some said that the lyrics had changed from “God Save the Queen” to “God Save the King,” and that Prince Harry was having difficulty learning the new term.

Social media was also abuzz with the speculation that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan were positioned in that location so that a giant candle would obscure her from TV coverage.

Others attempted to propagate the non-singing allegations about Meghan, claiming that it was difficult to determine if she was singing because her face was largely obscured by a large candle.

Many on social media (including the depicted tweet) claimed that Harry and Meghan were placed in Westminster Cathedral in such a way that Meghan would be concealed by a candle in television video.

“I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but that candle is completely obscuring Meghan,” a Twitter user said alongside a screenshot of the image.

Others who appeared to have little regard for the Duchess then jumped in.

One individual remarked, “On the sad occasion of Her Majesty’s Funeral, I am comforted by the fact that Meghan’s head is veiled by a candle.”

Another said, “Hiding Meghan Markle behind a big candle was a brilliant move.”
