Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State led the group of oil marketers to the meeting.
The meeting took place amidst the ongoing controversy and protests surrounding the removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (petrol).
Tinubu Directs National Economic Council to Address Subsidy Removal Effects
President Tinubu reportedly instructed the National Economic Council (NEC) to initiate interventions aimed at mitigating the impact of fuel subsidy removal.
Governor Dapo Abiodun disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the President, where he was accompanied by major oil marketers.
The Governor acknowledged that the removal of the fuel subsidy would lead to hardships for Nigerians.
However, he assured that the NEC, under the leadership of Vice President Kashim Shettima, has been tasked with developing strategies to address the challenges.
