President Ramkalawan welcomes Mauritian Minister for the Blue Economy, Marine Resources, Fisheries and Shipping at State House

President Wavel Ramkalawan received the Mauritian Minister for the Blue Economy, Marine Resources, Fisheries and Shipping, Hon. Sudheer Maudhoo for a courtesy call at State House this morning.
The delegation from Mauritius, led by Minister Maudhoo, are in Seychelles on an official visit and today’s meeting was an opportunity to brief the Head of State on the various outcomes of their mission in Seychelles. During discussions, predominantly focused on matters regarding the sustainability of the industrial fishing sector as well as explore new avenues of possible cooperation between Seychelles and Mauritius.
President Ramkalawan reiterated Seychelles’ full commitment in further enhancing the excellent diplomatic ties that exists between the two island nations and to continue to join forces to address pertinent matters of common interest such as maritime security and the scourge of illegal drug trafficking.
Speaking to the press, Minister Maudhoo said they are honoured to be received by the President and also pledge his commitment and that of his Government to strengthen cooperation and collaboration to ensure areas discussed are materialized for the benefit of both peoples.
Also present at State House was the Seychelles’ Designated Minister and Minister for Fisheries and the Blue Economy, Mr Jean-Francois Ferrari, the Honorary Consul for Mauritius in Seychelles, Mr Francis Chang-Leng and members of the Mauritian delegation, Raj Kishore Bunjun and Geerish Topsy Sanoo.
