President Cyril Ramaphosa appoints Owen Lloyd Rogers as SA Constitutional Judge

Judge Owen Lloyd Rogers has been appointed to the Constitutional Court of South Africa by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Rogers is a highly experienced judge who has served as a judge of the Western Cape Division of the High Court, according to the President in a statement.

After several years in private practice, he has been on the bench for the past nine years.

“The President’s consultation with the Chief Justice and leaders of political parties represented in the National Assembly, interviews conducted by the Judicial Services Commission, and their recommendation of four names for the President to consider led to the appointment of Judge Rogers as a Constitutional Court Judge,” the Presidency said.

President Ramaphosa wished Rogers well in his new position, which begins on August 1, 2022.
