A routine Saturday FA Vase match quickly descended into chaos as scenes of violence involving players, coaches, and fans were captured on social media.

Bilston Town FC suffered a 2-0 defeat to Droylsden FC, but it was not the scoreline that caught people’s attention—it was what happened after the final whistle.

Videos circulating online show a Bilston Town player in a heated fight with several spectators near the pitch-side railings.

Punches were exchanged, and the clash quickly escalated, with players and onlookers tumbling onto the muddy, puddled ground as screams echoed across the stadium.

Coaches and Fans Also Get Involved

The footage doesn’t stop there.

Another video appears to show a coach from the Droylsden side punching an individual on the pitch, seemingly after being pursued by a Bilston player and other unidentified people.

The incidents paint a chaotic picture of a post-match environment spiraling out of control, though the exact cause of the altercations remains unclear.

One particularly striking moment captures a woman attempting to break up the fight, only to fall to the ground, prompting further aggression from the Bilston player toward another group of men.

The scuffles continued for some time before the video abruptly ends, leaving questions about the full scale of the melee.

Police Launch Investigation

West Midlands Police confirmed that they were called to the stadium early on Saturday evening.

A spokesperson said:

“We’re investigating after a violent disorder at Bilston Town Football Club on Queen Street yesterday.

We were called to reports of people being attacked at around 5pm. No arrests have yet been made.

We are working to establish the full facts and will be contacting the victims to get full statements, and will be reviewing mobile phone and CCTV footage.

Anyone with information has been asked to get in touch with us on 101, quoting 20/139817/26.”

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are appealing for witnesses to come forward to help piece together what triggered the brawls.

Bilston Town and Droylsden Respond

Bilston Town FC addressed the incident on social media, emphasizing that the footage circulating does not reflect the spirit of the day or the majority of the match.

The club stated they are reviewing all footage and thanked Droylsden supporters for their cooperation.

Meanwhile, Droylsden FC maintained a calm public response, posting a thank-you message to Bilston Town for their hospitality and wishing fans a safe journey home, without mentioning the violence.

What’s Next?

Police investigations will continue as CCTV and mobile footage are reviewed, and potential witnesses are contacted.

Both clubs may also face internal disciplinary action depending on what is uncovered.

For the wider football community, this incident raises fresh concerns about fan and player conduct, as well as the security measures at lower-league games.
