The silver Audi, reportedly stolen from Lanark, came to a dramatic halt in front of 80-year-old James Murray’s residence in Wishaw.

The incident unfolded on Carrick Crescent in Coltness, Scotland, where the car, allegedly driven by thugs, crashed through a wall during a suspected car chase.

Chaos Unleashed: Audi Plows Through Gardens

Residents in Wishaw had a stroke of luck as the stolen Audi, after hitting a lamppost, careened through gardens, causing extensive damage to fencing and a brick wall.

The shocking images depict the battered vehicle with a wrecked front bumper, dented doors, and a smashed bonnet.

Miraculously, the car narrowly missed hitting houses during its destructive path, sparing the neighborhood from potential harm.

Lucky Escape for Elderly Resident

James Murray, an 80-year-old widower who usually embarks on his daily shopping trip around 10 am, narrowly avoided catastrophe.

Running behind his schedule that day, Murray witnessed the stolen car coming to a shuddering halt just feet from his front door.

Reflecting on the close call, he described the scene: “I heard the noise and it sounded like a whole lot of bricks had come crashing down.”

Daughter Relieved as Community Rallies Together

Murray’s daughter, Lynn Sirrell, expressed gratitude that her father emerged unscathed.

Describing the aftermath, she explained how the Audi had mounted the pavement, traversing through four gardens and narrowly missing her father’s window.

Sirrell emphasized the collective effort of neighbors who cleared up the debris and ensured her father’s safety, highlighting the potential dangers that were thankfully averted.

Investigation Underway: Appeal for Information

Police Scotland is actively investigating the incident and has urged anyone with information to come forward.

The authorities were alerted to the crash at 10:05 am on January 12, 2024, with three men seen fleeing from the stolen vehicle.

The police have identified the car’s origin as Lanark and are conducting ongoing inquiries to apprehend those involved.
