A doorbell camera that was live streaming to a homeowner’s phone allowed her to see a teenager slam into her house.

When Michelle Wood checked her Ring doorbell at about 10.15 am on Monday, she was reportedly drinking coffee more than 150 kilometres away in Narrogin, which is more than 50 kilometres from her Piara Waters, Perth, home.

As a Ford Falcon vehicle crashed through the wall of her Bayonne Corner house, she said she unlocked her phone and watched in terror.

A short while later, the motorist, a 19-year-old lady, and the damaged car’s occupant agreed the driver could hear Ms. Wood via the doorbell’s speaker.

She questioned, “Listen, I own the home; what has happened?”

The driver said, “I lost control going around the turn.”

He was certainly moving too quickly, Ms. Wood said. Police are on the way, and I’ve captured it all on video.

In the collision, no one was hurt.

Ms. Wood said that it was terrible to see how the teenage motorist “trashed” her house.

She told Seven News, “I was at a coffee shop in a rural area working with a volunteer and seeing everything in real-time and being unable to do anything.”

I was able to deal with it right away and contact everyone within a minute of it really occurring, which was a little frightening.

The driver expressed regret to Ms. Wood before being transported for a required blood test.

Emergency workers were able to restore the house temporarily, but Ms. Wood said she was unclear of where she would remain until actual repairs were made.

I have no idea where we’re going to stay or what will transpire, she said.

No one has been charged, and police are still looking into the collision.
