Panera Bread Customers Must File Claims by Monday for Free Food or Cash Settlement from Lawsuit

Panera Bread customers have until Monday to file a claim and receive free food or cash from the popular fast food chain.

$2 Million Settlement Over Misleading Prices

Panera has agreed to a $2 million settlement related to a lawsuit claiming the franchise misled customers about delivery and menu prices. The chain has denied any wrongdoing.

Eligibility for Settlement Claims

Eligible customers must have proof of ordering delivery through the Panera app or website from October 1, 2020, to August 31, 2021.

Options for Settlement Compensation

Customers can choose between two free vouchers worth $9.50 each for items from Panera’s ‘Soup & Mac’ menu or a $12 electronic payment.

Potential Adjustment of Settlement Amounts

According to the claims website, the settlement amounts may decrease based on the number of participants.

Allocation of Vouchers and Cash Settlement Fund

The company has agreed to provide up to $200,000 worth of ‘Soup & Mac’ vouchers. Money for the cash settlement will come from the Net Cash Settlement Fund.

Distribution of Monetary Settlement

If funds are insufficient to award each Settlement Class Member $12, the Net Cash Settlement Fund will be distributed on a pro rata basis. Qualified customers can receive their settlement via PayPal, Venmo, or other electronic payment platforms.

Previous Lawsuits Against Panera Bread

This is not the first time Panera Bread has faced legal issues. Several lawsuits have been filed over its Charged Lemonades, a high-energy drink that has since been removed from the menu after incidents of cardiac arrest and fatalities.

Tragic Death of Sarah Katz

Sarah Katz, a 21-year-old University of Pennsylvania student, died after suffering two cardiac arrests shortly after consuming the highly caffeinated beverage.

Multiple Lawsuits Following Charged Lemonades Incidents

Since Katz’s death in September 2022, multiple lawsuits have been filed against Panera Bread by others who experienced serious health issues after consuming the lemonade.

Heartbreaking Accounts from Victims’ Families

Katz’s parents recently shared their grief, recalling how she collapsed and was rushed to a trauma center, where she suffered a second cardiac arrest that proved fatal.

Luke Adams’ Cardiac Arrest Incident

Another incident involved 18-year-old Luke Adams, who went into sudden cardiac arrest after consuming the drink and a chicken sandwich. Fortunately, medical professionals present at the scene were able to resuscitate him, and he was subsequently hospitalized and placed in intensive care.
