Dubai Exhibition Showcases Picasso’s “Golden Muse” Ahead of $120 Million Auction

The 1932 portrait of Marie-Therese Walter, Picasso’s muse and confidante, is poised to hit the auction block with an estimated value of at least $120 million.

Scheduled for sale in November, the portrait is part of the late New Yorker Emily Fisher Landau’s esteemed art collection, setting the stage for a momentous auction.

Marie-Therese Walter’s profound influence on Picasso’s work cannot be overstated.

Walter’s presence is evident in multiple Picasso masterpieces, including “Femme assise pres d’une fenetre (Marie-Therese),” which sold for $103.4 million in 2021.
