Over 3.8 million bottles of various beer captured in recent months have been burned by the Kano State Hisbah Board.
On Wednesday, February 9, the board’s Commander-General, Dr Harun Ibn- Sina, revealed this during the destruction of the confiscated beer at Tudun Kalebawa, Dawakin Tofa local government area.
The board, according to Ibn-Sina, is winning the battle against drug misuse, intoxicants, and all other societal vices.
He claimed that the state administration had approved the destruction of the intoxicants, which was why the exercise was carried out.
This allowed the board to obtain a court order from Kano’s Chief Magistrates’ Court to destroy all of the seized beer in its possession.
The sale, consumption and possession of alcoholic substances are prohibited in the state,” Ibn-sina said
