Africa will come to a standstill tonight when Orlando Pirates face Morocco’s RS Berkane in the CAF Confederation Cup final!

The Buccaneers make the long journey to Uyo, Nigeria where the 2021/22 CAF Confederation Cup final will be held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

Orlando Pirates booked their place in the semi-finals after overcoming Libya’s Al Ahli Tripoli thanks to a 2-1 on aggregate victory.

While things might not be going according to plan for the Buccaneers in terms of their domestic campaign, the Mayfair side have produced a number stunning performances on the continent!

They’ll need one last incredible performance should they wish to go on and lift their first CAF Confederation Cup title tonight!

Orlando Pirates injury updates!

The Buccaneers will be without utility defender Paseka Mako due to the nasty facial injury he picked up earlier this year. Mako has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Apart from Mako’s exclusion, the Buccaneers have welcomed back the likes of Vincent Pule, Thabang Monare and Zakhele Lepasa back to full fitness following injury layoffs.

It remains to be seen whether Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids opt to start star winger Vincent Pule or whether he’ll be used as a super-sub in tonight’s final!

Ncikazi’s infamous rant on ill-treatment of Orlando Pirates!

“One, as Africans, let us change this mentality that when opponents come to Tanzania, you are so hostile to them that you treat them like animals,” the Orlando Pirates coach said following his side’s quarterfinal clash in Tanzania.

“We saw inhumane treatment everywhere we go. We were treated so badly, but this is a game of sports that should unite us. But what you get here are hostility and abuse.

“Why do Africans do this to other Africans? Do you really think the hostility that Orlando Pirates get when we come here … when Simba come to South Africa should we treat them that way?

“The treatment that we got from the stadium to the hotel, from the airport – why do you do this as Africans to other Africans? Are we going to improve the football in the continent?”
