Olivia Rodrigo’s Evolving Perspective
In a recent interview, Olivia Rodrigo, amidst preparations for her 2024 Guts Tour, opened up about her feelings towards some tracks on her acclaimed 2021 debut album, Sour.
The multi-platinum artist confessed that her relationship with certain songs has shifted, stating, “Some of them I don’t really love so much anymore.”
Navigating Changing Tastes
While Rodrigo refrained from specifying the particular tracks she’s grown distant from, she empathized with fans, acknowledging their emotional attachment to her music.
She highlighted the complexities involved, expressing how people feel attached to specific songs, even if those aren’t her personal favorites anymore. Her recent rehearsals of older songs have played a role in this realization, indicating that she has simply “grown out of some of them.”
Sour’s Enduring Impact
Despite Rodrigo’s evolving sentiments, her debut album, Sour, remains a fan favorite and a commercial success. Remarkably, the LP continues to make waves on the Billboard 200 chart, currently holding the No. 49 position, over two years post its release.
With an impressive 133 weeks on the chart, the album’s enduring popularity underscores its lasting impact. Notably, Sour has also produced two No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, solidifying its status as a cultural milestone.
