Olam, an agribusiness conglomerate and parent company of Crown Flour Mill Limited, is set to host the second edition of its wheat value chain stakeholders’ consultative virtual forum, scheduled to hold on November 24, 2021.

With the theme “Rethinking wheat farming in Nigeria – Seeds, Research and Partnerships”, the virtual forum will convene key stakeholders in the wheat value chain.

Representatives from the Central Bank of Nigeria; National Assembly; Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD); Wheat Farmers Association of Nigeria (WFAN); Flour Milling Association of Nigeria (FMAN) and the Lake Chad Research Institute (LCRI) are expected to grace the event.

Also, the International Centre for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA), and other experts from the International Agricultural Research Community (IARC) will address the challenges in the wheat value chain.

According to Olam, the experts are expected to proffer suitable, actionable and measurable solutions to the national wheat production constraints and its self-sufficiency aspiration.
