NYSC warns corp members against fraudsters

The Management of National Youth Service Corps has cautioned the general public of fake information on a social media account, purported to be NYSC official account.

In a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations of the Scheme, Mr. Emeka Mgbemena and made available to Journalists in Abuja Nigeria’s capital noted that, the fake social media account purported to be NYSC official account in circulation is requesting unsuspecting Corps Members and Prospective Corps Members to contact the promoters for the under listed services:
The statement also notified the general public and relevant stakeholders of the Scheme stating that the said account is FAKE, as NYSC shall never advertise, or indulge in such illegality.
It further hinted that, the fraudsters copied some stories from the authentic social media platforms of the Scheme in order to make the fake account have semblance of genuineness.
The statement stated that concessional deployment and relocation are granted based on the Deployment and Relocation policies of the Scheme, with requests treated on individual merit.
It further explained that, NYSC does not charge fees for services rendered to either prospective or serving Corps Member.
It urged members of the public especially Corps Members and prospective ones to be guarded against falling prey to the antics of the fraudsters.
