Billionaires Celebrate Bintu Tinubu’s 80th Birthday in Lagos
Prominent Nigerian business billionaires gathered on Sunday evening to commemorate the 80th birthday of Bintu Tinubu, former Iyaloja of Lagos.
The event, held at Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, was graced by notable figures such as Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote; chairman of Geregu Power PLC, Femi Otedola; and chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu.
Bintu Tinubu is the mother of Wale Tinubu, the managing director/chief executive officer of Oando Plc.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was also present, along with other dignitaries including Prof Benedict Oramah, president of the Africa Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), Sam Iwuajoku, director of Quits Hospitality Limited, and actress Kate Henshaw, among others.
Otedola shared photos from the ceremony on his verified Instagram page, extending birthday wishes to Madam Tinubu and expressing his honor to celebrate with her.
Governors Fashola, Ambode, and Sanwo-Olu Reunite at Lagos House
In another event, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu hosted his predecessors, Akinwunmi Ambode and Babatunde Fashola, among others, at the Lagos House in Marina.
Gboyega Akosile, the media adviser to the governor, shared a video on his Twitter handle, noting that it was the first time in over four years that all three governors had gathered in the same location.
The reunion took place during an event organized to honor President Bola Tinubu, who was in Lagos for the Sallah celebration.
In the video, Fashola, Ambode, and Sanwo-Olu can be seen posing for photos together.
The gathering of past and present governors in Lagos marked a significant occasion and highlighted the unity and camaraderie among leaders in the state.
