Nigerian Army Seizes Weapons and Disrupts Militant Camp in Bayelsa State

The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, announced this significant operation in a statement released in Abuja on Monday.

Operation in Azuzuama Community:

The raid operation took place on Sunday in the Azuzuama Community, situated in the Ijaw South Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

Brigadier General Nwachukwu highlighted that the highly motivated troops effectively subdued the suspected militants, forcing them to abandon their camp in disarray.

Recovery of Weapons and Equipment:

During the operation, the Nigerian Army troops recovered a substantial amount of weaponry and equipment.

The seized items included 5 AK 47 Rifles, 2 Rocket Propelled Grenade Bombs, 4 Rocket Grenade Bomb Chargers, seven 7.62mm Special ammunition, 14 AK 47 Rifle Magazines, and one pumping machine.

Destruction of the Camp and Recovery of Additional Items:

As part of their operation, the troops successfully destroyed the illicit camp used by the suspected militants.

In addition to the weapons, various other items were recovered, including two 16-inch anchored verve, one mallet hammer, one pipe range spinner, and one axe.

The statement emphasized the Nigerian Army’s appreciation for the public’s assistance and urged everyone to continue providing timely and credible information.
