After being diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier this week, President Joe Biden is feeling “much, much better,” according to Ashish Jha, the White House’s coronavirus response coordinator, who spoke on Sunday morning.

Jha informed Margaret Brenna, the anchor of CBS Face the Nation, that “I checked in with his team late last night.” He was in good health. Yesterday was a good day for him.

He said, “He’s got a viral condition, an upper respiratory infection, that is, and he’s doing perfectly well.”

So far this morning, we haven’t received any updates, but during last night, he was feeling significantly better, Jha added.

On Thursday, during a routine COVID test, Biden was given a positive diagnosis.

The president declared he felt good and was working in solitude at the White House when word of his diagnosis was made public.

Jha claimed that Biden’s BA.5 variant’s appearance has increased the requirement for ongoing indoor masking.

Masks function, right? said he. “They obviously slow transmission.”

Therefore, I believe it’s really sensible for people to wear masks indoors in high transmission locations, especially if they’re in crowded, inadequately ventilated settings.

According to the expert, this BA. 5 strain is currently responsible for 80% of COVID infections in the United States.

Thankfully, our treatments and immunizations are effective against [this variation], therefore I believe the President is doing well, he stated on Sunday.

Jha promised to keep the public informed about the president’s condition and any potential long-term ill effects.

We believe that it is crucial for the American people to be aware of how their president is performing, he said.

Naturally, we will inform the American people as soon as possible if he exhibits persistent symptoms or if any of them limit his capacity to do his duties.

However, I believe that this COVID course will be similar to what we have observed in many Americans who have received double boosters and full vaccinations and are receiving treatment, Jha continued.

“The president has been doing well, and we expect that he will continue to do so,” was the statement.
