The NPC spokesperson, Isiaka Yahaya, revealed this development on Tuesday.

The Purpose of the Meeting:

This census, originally scheduled for May 3-7, was postponed indefinitely.

The decision was made after a meeting with members of the Federal Executive Council, as well as the Chairman of the National Population Commission, Nasir Isa-Kwarra, and his team at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on April 28, 2023.

The postponement was deemed necessary to allow the incoming administration to have input and effectively utilize the census results.
