Nando’s pays tribute to Shane Warne: ‘Your leggies were better than ours’

It’s been a few days since the passing of Shane Warne, and fans are still reeling from his sudden death.

The iconic Australian cricketer died last week Friday after an alleged heart attack. He was 52 years old.

Many fellow cricketers, celebrities and fans have offered their tributes to the popular spinner, who was hailed as “one of the greatest bowlers in cricket history“.

NANDO’S OFFERS CHEEKY TRIBUTE

Whilst no-one expected Nando’s to offer a tribute to the “spin king”, We were not surprised at their cheeky humour.

A print advertisement read: “Okay, we’ll admit. Your leggies were better than ours. But our chicken is still better than a duck”.

Nando’s then morphed a picture of Shane Warne into their logo.

“Greatest spinner of all time,” it added.

SA CRICKETERS REMEMBER SHANE WARNE

Meanwhile, a number of veteran South African cricket players also remembered Shane Warne on their social media pages.

Graeme Smith posted: “In life you are privileged to meet people that changed the game. Shane Warne changed the game. RIP brother”.

Herschelle Gibbs added: “What a character, what a bowler! Rest well mate, you’ll be missed big time”.

And Paul Adams said of the star athlete: “You inspired all of us and especially me to bowl spin… no matter how unique we all are… you spun the ball with such control that we would always ask ‘How did Warnie do that?’ Rest well King”.
