Authorities are attempting to identify a mummified body discovered in the bathtub of a residence in northwest Arizona during a burglary investigation.

Officers responding to a burglary in progress in Bullhead City around 3:30 a.m. On Saturday, 65-year-old Christine Lee Walters was spotted searching through her home’s belongings.

They claimed that “pry marks on the door indicated a forced entry into the residence” and that Walters had been entering the home for days to steal clothing, purses, and other items she reportedly intended to sell online.

A lady was caught for burglarizing a home, and as police were examining the area, they discovered a mummified corpse…

Bullhead City Police Department published the notice on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

The body was discovered in the bathtub in a naturally mummified state, which occurs when a corpse is subjected to extremely dry conditions that impede normal decomposition.

“It is likely that the mummified body belonged to the homeowner,” police stated.

Walters reportedly told police she was unaware the body was in the residence.

Unknown is the length of time the body was in the bathtub.

The office of the Mohave County Medical Examiner was attempting to ascertain the cause of death.

Because she hadn’t been seen in roughly a year, neighbors informed police that they assumed the house to be abandoned and that the owner may have relocated.

“Detectives then executed a search warrant at Walters’ residence and in her vehicle, where they discovered other items belonging to the victim, including her birth certificate, IRS papers, driver’s license, and credit cards,” according to police.

Walters was hauled into jail on two counts of burglary allegation.

Following the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her possession, police have stated that they intend to file more charges against her.

Thursday it was unclear whether Walters has an attorney who can speak on her behalf.
