After a dramatic turn of events at the Singapore Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton reassured fans that all is well between him and the Mercedes team, despite a costly strategy misstep.

The seven-time Formula 1 World Champion recently opened up about the challenges he faced during the race, providing some clarity on the situation.

A Risky Tire Gamble

Hamilton, who had qualified in third place, was the only top driver to start the race on soft tires—a bold move that ultimately backfired.

Meanwhile, his Mercedes teammate, George Russell, opted for medium compounds, a decision that proved more favorable as the race unfolded.

As reported by Sky Sports, Hamilton’s struggle with the soft tires forced him to pit earlier than expected, putting him at a disadvantage compared to other drivers.

He ended the race in sixth place, with Russell finishing in fourth. Both drivers skipped post-race media duties, raising questions about the team’s morale.

Hamilton Breaks His Silence

Hamilton took to Instagram to address the situation, explaining that the decision to start on soft tires was indeed risky, but one he had agreed upon with the team.

“I know there’s been a lot of talk about our strategy in Singapore,” he wrote.

“It didn’t go as planned, and it’s easy to get frustrated in the heat of the moment. But I was on board with the decision, knowing it was a gamble that could’ve paid off.”

He acknowledged the team’s miscalculation regarding their competitors’ strategies but remained composed in his reflection.

No Hard Feelings with Mercedes

Despite the setback, Hamilton emphasized that his relationship with the Mercedes team remains strong.

“Things are cool with the team,” he assured.

“In any successful partnership, you have highs and lows. We’re not afraid to have tough conversations, and that’s why we’ve accomplished so much together.”

He ended his message on a positive note, reaffirming his commitment to the team and their shared goals.

“We’ll continue to support each other until the very end. It’s all love.”

Looking Ahead: Next Stop, USA

With the Singapore Grand Prix behind him, Hamilton is now focused on the next challenge.

The Formula 1 season resumes in the United States on October 20, where Hamilton and Mercedes will be eager to bounce back and prove their resilience on the track.
