Memphis jogger’s disappearance suspect

Eliza Fletcher, a jogger from Memphis who went missing last week, was abducted, according to Tennessee police, who announced an arrest in the case on Sunday.

Cleotha Abston, 38, is accused with exceptionally aggravated abduction and tampering with evidence in the disappearance of Fletcher, according to the Memphis Police Department. Although a second suspect was detained, police said that he was “currently not considered to be related” to the early-Friday kidnapping of Fletcher.

Police said on Twitter that the investigation was still continuing.

Authorities claim that 34-year-old Fletcher was dragged into a car when she was out on a jog close to the University of Memphis campus. She was running when a guy came and after a short fight, he dragged her into a black GMC Terrain. When Fletcher failed to get home, she was reported missing.

According to press sources, Fletcher is the granddaughter of the late Memphis hardware magnate and philanthropist Joseph “Joe” Orgill III.

Fletcher is still missing, according to police.

According to the agency, “MPD Investigators and officers, together with our local and federal colleagues, continue looking for Mrs. Fletcher.”
