The “Archetypes” episode of Meghan Markle’s brand-new Spotify podcast will be put on hold as the nation observes the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

As of Monday afternoon, a notice on the podcast’s Spotify page said, “New episodes of Archetypes will be suspended during the formal mourning period for Her Majesty The Queen.”

It was Markle’s choice to suspend the podcast, a spokeswoman for Markle told Insider.

Page Six reported on Friday that the podcast will be suspended, but it was not immediately apparent when the decision had been taken.

The first episode of “Archetypes” debuted on August 23, 2022, and Markle and Prince Harry formed Archewell Audio in 2020. A message from Harry lamenting the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and recalling some experiences he had of her can now be seen on the Archewell website.

As for initial encounters, the statement continues, “We now honour my father in his new capacity as King Charles III. You are already deeply missed, not only by us, but by the world over.”

The Queen’s unheard-of decades-long reign came to an end on Thursday when she passed away at the age of 96. Seven days after her burial on September 19, the UK began a period of national mourning on Friday. It will end on September 26.
