Marjorie Taylor Greene launches AFAO slogan as she breaks with Donald Trump and outlines her domestic priorities in Georgia

Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is making waves again, this time with a bold new slogan that seems to signal a break from former ally Donald Trump.

On Saturday, Greene tweeted the acronym AFAO, standing for “America First America Only,” a phrase that underscores her focus on domestic priorities.

The announcement comes just days after Trump publicly withdrew his endorsement of Greene, calling her a “ranting lunatic” and criticising her for not following his political agenda.

The Fallout With Trump

The feud erupted Friday night when Trump announced on Truth Social that he was pulling his support.

He labelled Greene “wacky” and claimed she had been persistently complaining about him not taking her calls.

Over the weekend, he continued the verbal assault, calling her a “Lightweight Congresswoman,” a “Traitor,” and a “disgrace” to the GOP.

According to Trump, the disagreement started after he shared a poll indicating Greene’s slim chances of winning a Senate or gubernatorial seat without his endorsement, which he was not planning to offer.

Greene Fires Back

Greene did not stay silent. She framed Trump’s actions as an attempt to intimidate Republicans and claimed that his attacks have endangered her safety.

Private security firms reportedly contacted her, warning about threats she’s received.

“Aggressive rhetoric attacking me has historically led to death threats and multiple convictions of men radicalized by similar rhetoric,” Greene posted to X.

“This time by the President of the United States.”

She also suggested that Trump’s attacks were a smokescreen to distract from the issue of releasing files on the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, a controversial figure with historical ties to Trump.

AFAO and Policy Priorities

Greene’s new slogan, America First America Only, highlights her focus on domestic issues, a point of contention with Trump’s recent foreign policy decisions.

She has criticised his handling of trade tariffs and expressed doubts about claims that inflation is under control.

She is also calling for concrete solutions to healthcare costs, tweeting that her “heart is with Americans who struggle to afford life in America today” and criticising government spending and the replacement of American jobs with foreign workers.

Standing Firm on Epstein Files

Earlier this week, Greene was one of only four House Republicans to sign a petition pushing for a vote on releasing the full Justice Department files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump has dismissed the Epstein investigations as a Democratic hoax.

Greene expressed that the experience has given her “a small understanding” of the fear and pressure faced by Epstein’s victims, highlighting her willingness to challenge her own party’s leadership in pursuit of accountability.

Not Eyeing 2028

Despite the high-profile conflict and her newly minted slogan, Greene has dismissed speculation that she is planning a 2028 presidential run.

She says her focus remains firmly on her district in northwest Georgia, even as Trump hints at supporting a primary challenger against her in next year’s congressional election.

A Fractured GOP Landscape

The rift between Trump and Greene underscores ongoing tensions within the Republican Party.

Right-wing influencers and conservative media personalities have amplified attacks against her online, illustrating how social media has become a powerful battleground for GOP factions.

Greene, however, seems determined to chart her own course with AFAO, signaling a potential new direction for a segment of the party that has long been aligned with Trump.
