MANTRA Token Crashes to Record Low as Blockchain Suddenly Halts and Users Lose Access to Transactions

MANTRA’s native token has suffered another major setback after plunging to a record low just before the MANTRA Chain network stopped producing blocks and the project team announced an emergency precautionary halt.

The token fell from a 24-hour high of approximately $0.005060 to an all-time low of $0.004126 at around 11:00pm UTC on Thursday, according to CoinGecko data.

Although MANTRA later recovered slightly to about $0.0044, it remained roughly 10% lower over a 24-hour period.

Trading activity surged at the same time, with daily volume increasing by nearly 600% to around $24 million.

Network Halt Adds to Market Uncertainty

The sharp price decline came just before MANTRA Chain halted operations.

In an announcement on Friday, MANTRA said it had identified an incident affecting its blockchain and had stopped the network as a precaution while an investigation was carried out.

The project said it did not yet know the root cause of the incident and could not provide a timeline for restoring normal operations.

All network endpoints and transactions were frozen during the investigation.

Users Unable to Move Assets on MANTRA Chain

The suspension has effectively prevented assets from being transferred through MANTRA Chain.

The disruption has also affected cryptocurrency exchanges, several of which have paused deposits and withdrawals involving the network.

No timetable has been provided for those services to resume, leaving users waiting for further information from MANTRA and the exchanges involved.

The project has stressed that the network will not be restarted until developers are confident that doing so is safe.

MANTRA Status Page Shows Full Network Outage

MANTRA’s official status information classified the incident as a full outage.

The disruption affects public endpoints, validators, bridge migration operations and MANTRA-managed Inter-Blockchain Communication relays.

The network’s public RPC recorded block 17,449,398, which was produced at approximately 11:13pm UTC on Thursday.

MANTRA published its initial incident notification about half an hour later, at approximately 11:44pm.

CoinGecko data showed the token reaching its record low at around 11:10pm, placing the dramatic price move close to the time the blockchain stopped advancing.

Cause of Price Collapse Remains Unclear

Despite the close timing between the token’s plunge and the network disruption, MANTRA has not established whether the two events are connected.

The project has also not disclosed whether any assets were stolen, lost or otherwise placed at risk during the incident.

That uncertainty has added another layer of concern for token holders, particularly as the market attempts to determine whether the sell-off reflected advance knowledge of the network problem, broader market activity or another factor entirely.

Additional questions are likely to remain unanswered until MANTRA completes its investigation.

Latest Crisis Follows 2025 OM Collapse

The latest crisis comes after a devastating period for MANTRA’s token ecosystem.

In April 2025, the project’s previous OM token experienced a collapse of more than 90%, falling from roughly $6.30 to below $0.50.

The crash wiped more than $5 billion from the token’s market value and triggered intense scrutiny of the project.

The latest record-low price adds another difficult chapter to MANTRA’s recent history.

Project Has Already Undergone Restructuring

MANTRA has also experienced organisational changes following the 2025 turmoil.

In January, the project carried out layoffs and restructuring, while CEO John Patrick Mullin described 2025 as the most challenging year in MANTRA’s history.

The pressure was followed by a significant investment and proposed acquisition plan.

In June, Inveniam Capital Partners announced plans to acquire MANTRA after investing $20 million in the project during 2025.

Investors Await Answers From MANTRA

For now, the immediate focus is on the blockchain outage and determining exactly what caused the network to stop producing blocks.

The project’s decision to keep the chain offline until its safety can be established indicates that developers are treating the incident seriously.

However, the absence of a confirmed cause or restoration timetable leaves users and investors facing considerable uncertainty.

What’s Next?

MANTRA’s investigation will be critical in determining whether the incident was caused by a technical failure, a security issue or another unidentified problem.

The next major milestones will be the identification of the root cause, confirmation that assets remain secure and an announcement about when block production and transactions can safely resume.

Exchanges will also need to determine when deposits and withdrawals can be reopened.

Until then, MANTRA holders remain exposed to heightened volatility while the blockchain remains frozen.

Summary

MANTRA’s token plunged to an all-time low of $0.004126 after falling 18.5% from its 24-hour high, before recovering modestly.

Trading volume surged nearly 600% as the sell-off unfolded.

Shortly afterward, MANTRA Chain stopped producing blocks and the project announced a precautionary network halt following an unexplained incident.

Transactions, endpoints, validators and other network services have been frozen while developers investigate.

MANTRA has not established whether the price collapse was connected to the incident, nor has it confirmed whether assets were affected.

The outage comes after the project’s severe 2025 token collapse, subsequent restructuring and a proposed acquisition, placing renewed attention on the future stability of the network.
