Manchester United supporters have criticised Noussair Mazraoui on social media after the defender wore full-length black leggings during the club’s 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como on Wednesday night.

The Moroccan international featured in United’s defence as Michael Carrick’s side conceded four goals in another disappointing performance.

The result extended the team’s winless run in all competitions to seven matches, with their last victory coming in a 4-0 win over Sabah on September 10.

While the heavy defeat prompted frustration among supporters, Mazraoui’s choice of clothing also became a talking point, with temperatures in Como reported to be around 14 degrees Celsius.

Supporters Question Mazraoui’s Choice of Clothing

Several Manchester United fans took to X to comment on the 28-year-old’s decision to wear leggings during the match.

One supporter wrote: “Mazraoui wearing tights sums it all up games gone.”

Another fan suggested the clothing choice had signalled the team’s impending defeat, commenting: “I knew we were getting hammered when I saw Mazraoui wearing tights.”

A third supporter joked about the defender’s situation after the match, writing: “Mazraoui is still hopping around on one leg in the away changing room of an empty stadium trying to get them tights off.”

Lisandro Martinez Mentioned in Fans’ Reactions

Mazraoui’s leggings also featured in a supporter’s reference to Lisandro Martinez, who had publicly criticised aspects of the club’s situation the previous week.

One fan wrote: “Mick Carrick’s biggest tactical errors tonight were not putting Lisandro on media duties and allowing Mazraoui to wear leggings. Everything else is just noise.”

The comments added to the scrutiny surrounding Mazraoui following another difficult result for Manchester United.

Defender Faces Scrutiny After Leeds Draw

The defender had also attracted criticism during Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Leeds United in the Premier League.

During that match, Mazraoui conceded possession cheaply, leading to a corner that resulted in Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring Leeds’ equaliser.

The latest defeat to Como has extended Manchester United’s winless streak to seven matches across all competitions.

Manchester United Prepare for Bournemouth Fixture

Manchester United will attempt to end their winless run when they host Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Mazraoui and his teammates will be looking to return to winning ways following their 4-1 loss in the Champions League and the draw against Leeds.
