Man nabbed with fraudulent identity documents in Hillbrow to appear in court

A 47-year-old man found in possession of fraudulent identity documents in Hillbrow, Johannesburg, last week is expected to appear in the local Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday morning.

Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says police were conducting Operation O Kae Molao when they received a tip-off from a community member about a man producing fraudulent identity documents and passports in a flat in Hillbrow.

Masondo says upon searching the premises, police discovered identity documents, birth certificates, passports, bank statements, COVID-19 certificates, work permits, SAPS firearm licence competency certificates, SASSA cards, bank cards and other essential documents.
