Police in Gauteng have opened a double murder investigation after 14-year-old twin boys were found dead inside their home in Mamelodi West.
The brothers were discovered with multiple stab wounds in a bedroom on Friday, 2 October, after their mother returned home from work and reportedly found their bodies.
The circumstances surrounding the deaths remain unclear, with investigators yet to establish what happened inside the house.
Police Discover Twins With Multiple Injuries
Officers were called to the Mamelodi West property after receiving a report of a murder scene.
Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed that police found the lifeless bodies of the two boys inside a bedroom.
The twins had suffered multiple stab wounds.
Police have not provided further details about the weapon allegedly used in the attack or indicated how long the boys may have been inside the home before they were discovered.
Mother Reportedly Found Her Children
The victims’ mother is understood to have been at work before returning to the house, where she reportedly discovered her sons.
The discovery prompted the police response and the launch of an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
