LIVE: Egyptian Premier League, Al Ahly v Pyramids – Tuesday, 8 March

By Thomas Tomiwa

Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has announced his 23-man squad to face Pyramids FC in a top-of-the-table Egyptian Premier League clash on Tuesday, 8 March.

Kick-off is at 20:00 SA time.

Both sides are yet to lose a league match this season, as they lie one point apart on top of the league table.

Pyramids top the league with 26 points, while the Red Devils sit in second place with 25 points, but with a game in hand.

Al Ahly will go into the clash full of confidence after winning their last two games, against Pharco 4-1 and Al-Merrikh 3-2 in the CAF Champions League.

The same can be said for Pyramids who won their last six games and haven’t lost domestically or at continental level this season.

The Reds have struggled defensively in their last couple of games, but the return of centre-back duo Yasser Ibrahim and Ayman Ashraf could prove crucial.

Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau has been included in the squad.

Al Ahly squad to face Pyramids:

Goalkeepers: Mohamed El-Shennawy, Ali Lotfy, Mostafa Shobeir

Defenders: Rami Rabia, Yasser Ibrahim, Ayman Ashraf, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Mohamed Hany, Karim Fouad, Mahmoud Wahid, Ali Maaloul

Midfielders: Aliou Dieng, Hamdi Fathi, Amr El-Sulya, Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Ahmed Abdelkader, Mohamed Mahmoud, Taher Mohamed Taher, Hussein El-Shahat, Luis Miquissone, Percy Tau
