Layla Kolbe Shares Heartwarming Moments of Son Cayden’s First Week at School in Cape Town

Cayden Kolbe’s First Week of School: A Heartwarming Update

Cheslin Kolbe’s wife, Layla, shared a glimpse of their son Cayden’s big milestone via Instagram on Thursday, January 23.

It was an exciting moment—Cayden, at just one year old, had his first week of school.

\Layla posted a sweet album full of clips from the week, capturing the precious moments of her little boy’s new adventure.

Cayden’s School Beginnings

In her post, Layla gave fans an update after many had asked about how Cayden was settling in.

She mentioned that although drop-offs are emotional at first, with Cayden crying for about two minutes, he quickly calms down and adjusts. “He’s only still 1 year old,” Layla added, revealing that Cayden even got a special new school bag as a Christmas gift!

“Firstly, I plead the blood over my son and this post,” Layla wrote.

“For those asking about Mister’s first week at school, he loves his teacher Anke (in his deep voice).

” It’s clear that even though school is a big change, Cayden is getting along just fine after a brief adjustment period.

A Festive Season in Japan

While Cheslin is busy playing for Tokyo Sungoliath in the Japan Rugby League One, Layla and the kids are based in Cape Town, South Africa.

Despite the distance, the Kolbe family made sure to spend the holiday season together.

They traveled to Japan, returning home just in time for the kids’ return to school, which meant a last-minute scramble to get everything ready.

Layla posted humorously about her jetlag struggles and her whirlwind school prep session.

“4 hours later and it’s still Monday for us!” she wrote.

“I’ve done this many times to myself, but I’ve never braced myself for this one—Cayden Kolbe is something else! Dennis the Menace for who!!! I’m so glad it’s over! Now to tackle the jetlag because it’s actually Tuesday for us!”

Getting Back Into the Routine

After their Japan trip, Layla joked about her usual procrastination when it came to getting the kids ready for school.

“Straight from Japan into day-before-school prep for all 3 kids. Girl, se hare is gedoen!” she laughed, showing just how busy life can get for a family of five.

It’s always fun to follow along with the Kolbe family’s adventures, and it’s clear that even though Layla’s life can be hectic, she has a great sense of humor about it all.
