Heart-Wrenching Tragedy Unfolds in Abuja as Kidnappers in Military Camouflage Abduct Lawyer’s Family, Kill 13-Year-Old Daughter Over Unpaid N60 Million Ransom

Desperate Plea for NBA’s Intervention

Oladosu Folorunso Ariyo, an Abuja-based lawyer and alumnus of Adekunle Ajasin University, urgently sought help from the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) via a desperate message shared with colleagues on a WhatsApp group.

The lawyer disclosed the heart-wrenching details of the abduction, appealing for intervention.

Abduction in Sagwari Layout Estate

Gunmen invaded the Ariyo residence in Sagwari Layout Estate, Dutse, Abuja, dressed in full military camouflage.

The kidnappers abducted Ariyo’s wife, also a lawyer, and their four children. The family was held captive, with the kidnappers demanding a ransom of N60 million.

Tragic Consequences of Unpaid Ransom

Facing challenges in raising the demanded sum, the family tragically lost their 13-year-old daughter, Michelle. Her lifeless body was dumped near Ida, close to Ushafa in Bwari Area Council.

The kidnappers, undeterred by the partial payment, continue to threaten the lives of Ariyo’s wife and three remaining children.

Lawyer’s Urgent Appeal for NBA’s Intervention

Expressing the urgency of the situation, Ariyo reached out to his legal colleagues, sharing the harrowing details of the ongoing crisis.

Despite raising N7 million through donations, the kidnappers persist in their threats, prompting the lawyer to seek immediate assistance from the Nigerian Bar Association.

The tragic incident highlights the alarming rise in kidnappings and the ruthless tactics employed by criminals in Abuja, demanding immediate attention and intervention from relevant authorities.
