LASVO starts valuation of LAWMA’s fixed assets  

The Lagos State Valuation Office (LASVO) has commenced the Inspection and Valuation of all Fixed Assets of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) to help determine the Fair/Market Value, Insurance Value and creation of Fixed Assets Register for the Agency.

The Director, LASVO, ESV. Adekunle Awolaja, made this known in his office on Friday as he explained that the exercise was designed to enable the State keep records of government assets, valuation of the assets and ensure easy identification and location of such assets.

His words: “The exercise will help to safeguard numerous State government assets, particularly old and newly acquired trucks, waste bins, landed property and others located across LAWMA outlets and spread Statewide. Included in the assets valuation are Landfill Sites, Depots and Transfer Loading Stations (TLS).

The two-week exercise would cut across 44 locations in the State beginning at LAWMA headquarters, Ijora”. Awolaja said the exercise entails a physical inspection that will run until Thursday, 14th April 2022.

He appealed to all staff of LAWMA, especially those in the out stations, to render all necessary support to the Agency towards the successful completion of the valuation exercise.

Recall that the Lagos State Valuation Office (LASVO) had, in December 2021, embarked on the 5th Phase Valuation of the State Government’s Fixed Assets across the metropolis in line with international best practices.
