Guy Ritchie had plenty of reason to celebrate as he arrived at the London premiere of the second season of his hit crime drama The Gentlemen, with his family joining him for the high-profile occasion.

The 57-year-old filmmaker was the centre of attention at the Guildhall Art Gallery on Wednesday, where he was accompanied by his wife, model Jacqui Ainsley, and his eldest son, Rocco Ritchie.

Jacqui Ainsley Makes a Glamorous Red-Carpet Appearance

Jacqui, 44, drew attention in an elegant black and green kimono-style dress as she walked the red carpet alongside her husband.

The couple, who married in 2015 and have three children together, appeared affectionate throughout the event, holding hands as they posed for photographs.

Ritchie kept his own look considerably more relaxed, opting for a suede bomber jacket that gave his appearance a casual edge.

Rocco Ritchie Joins His Father for the Celebration

The director was also supported by his son Rocco, 26, who looked smart in a grey suit.

Rocco, whose mother is pop superstar Madonna, bore a striking resemblance to his famous father as he posed at the premiere.

His appearance added another layer of family significance to an evening largely centred on Ritchie’s latest television project.

Maya Jama and Kaya Scodelario Bring Hollywood Glamour

The family appearance came as stars of The Gentlemen gathered for the lavish premiere, with Maya Jama and Kaya Scodelario among those commanding attention on the red carpet.

Both actresses arrived in eye-catching gowns as they joined their fellow cast members for the launch of the second season.

Theo James, Ray Winstone and other members of the ensemble were also present to celebrate the return of the crime comedy-drama.

Theo James’ Eddie Faces a New Battle for Power

The second season continues the story of Theo James’ character Eddie Horniman, who finds himself determined to regain complete control of his family estate while navigating the dangerous criminal world surrounding him.

A newly released trailer shows Eddie reflecting on the vast history of the estate before making his ambitions clear.

However, reclaiming his property and expanding his influence will not be straightforward, particularly with Bobby Glass still standing in his way.

Eddie and Susie Challenge Bobby Glass’ Authority

Eddie and Susie Glass, played by Kaya Scodelario, have spent the previous year working together overseas as part of Bobby Glass’ criminal operation.

Their partnership becomes increasingly complicated as they begin to disagree with decisions made by the crime boss.

Bobby is also aware that Eddie and Susie are looking to broaden their criminal enterprise and potentially persuade him to support efforts to “decriminalize marijuana”.

The growing tension leaves the pair facing a difficult choice: continue operating under Bobby’s authority or attempt to establish their own power base.

Stanley Johnston Returns With Advice for Eddie

Giancarlo Esposito reprises his role as Stanley Johnston, another influential figure who appears to encourage Eddie to stop operating in Bobby’s shadow.

Stanley tells Eddie to forge his own path and move away from Bobby Glass, adding another voice to the growing conflict over who should control the expanding empire.

The rivalry is expected to remain central to the second season as Eddie attempts to balance family interests, criminal alliances and his own ambitions.

New Faces Expand the Crime Drama

The upcoming episodes also introduce several new characters, including Hugh Bonneville as Lord Hawthorne and Maya Jama as a gangster’s moll.

Their arrival expands the show‘s already colourful collection of characters and brings new relationships and rivalries into the story.

The second season has already attracted strong critical attention, with Daily Mail critic Christopher Stevens awarding the series five stars.

Meghan Markle Casting Claim Adds Another Layer of Intrigue

The premiere also comes amid reports surrounding a possible connection between the series and Meghan Markle.

Ahead of the launch, it was claimed that the former British royal had been offered a role in a potential third instalment of The Gentlemen.

Royal author Tina Brown later claimed that the reported offer had been withdrawn after the reaction to the casting became too intense.

Writing in her Fresh Hell Substack newsletter, Brown said she had learned that the proposed casting had been withdrawn because the backlash had allegedly become too difficult to proceed with.

The claim has not been presented as an official announcement from Netflix or the show’s producers.

Meghan Markle’s Reported Acting Return Remains Under Scrutiny

The speculation has also reignited discussion about Markle’s previous comments regarding a return to acting.

In 2022, she told Variety that she considered herself finished with acting, while leaving open the possibility that circumstances could eventually change.

More recently, reports involving people described as being close to the Duchess have suggested that a return to Britain could form part of a broader change in direction for Meghan and Prince Harry.

For now, however, the focus remains firmly on the second season of The Gentlemen, with Ritchie and his cast preparing to take audiences back into the show’s dangerous world of crime, wealth and competing ambitions.
