Just when most people are thinking about retirement, Kelsey Grammer is preparing for diaper duty once again.
The 70-year-old actor, best known for his role as Frasier Crane, is about to become a dad for the eighth time—and it looks like he’s absolutely thrilled.
Spotted in London with His Wife and a Baby Bump
On Tuesday, Grammer was spotted looking cheerful as he walked through London with his wife Kayte Walsh, who appeared very pregnant and glowing in a flowing black dress.
The couple, who’ve been married since 2011, were out with their three kids, grabbing snacks from Whole Foods before enjoying some fresh air at Hyde Park.
Though the couple hasn’t made an official announcement, insiders confirmed to DailyMail.com that Kayte is indeed pregnant with their fourth child.
And according to a close source, the surprise pregnancy has been a spark of joy for both of them.
A Spark Rekindled and a New Chapter Ahead
The insider shared, “Kelsey is really leaning into this next chapter.
He’s been so hands-on and supportive during Kayte’s pregnancy.
It wasn’t something they were expecting, but it’s brought new energy into their marriage.”
The source added that now that Grammer has stepped away from his iconic Frasier role—especially after the recent Frasier revival ended—he’s looking forward to a slower-paced, family-focused lifestyle.
Already a Dad to Seven, With Number Eight on the Way
This will be baby number eight for Grammer. He and Kayte already share three children: 12-year-old Faith, 10-year-old Kelsey Gabriel, and 8-year-old Auden James.
But Kelsey also has children from previous relationships:
-
Spencer Grammer (41) with his first wife Doreen Alderman
-
Greer Grammer (33) with former partner Barrie Buckner
-
Mason Olivia (23) and Jude Gordon (20) with ex-wife Camille Grammer
In a past interview, Grammer shared how grateful he feels being an older dad.
“The beauty of being an older father is you kind of get to try it again,” he said in 2018. “That’s been a real gift.”
A Love Story That Took Off at 30,000 Feet
Kelsey and Kayte’s love story is the stuff of rom-coms.
They first met in 2009 when she was a flight attendant and he was a passenger flying to London.
As Grammer told Jimmy Kimmel, “It was very romantic—we met in the air.”
Their relationship began while Kelsey was still legally married to Real Housewives star Camille, and the pair tied the knot in February 2011 at New York’s Plaza Hotel—just days after his divorce was finalized.
A Bittersweet Goodbye to Frasier… Again
Grammer’s beloved Frasier Crane first popped up on Cheers in what was supposed to be a brief guest role.
But the character became a hit and spun off into the acclaimed sitcom Frasier, which ran from 1993 to 2004 and picked up 37 Emmy Awards along the way.
In 2023, Grammer reprised the character for a revival on Paramount+, which ran for two seasons before being cancelled earlier this year.
Now, it seems Kelsey is trading punchlines for playtime.
Embracing Domestic Life in the Heart of London
During their family day out, Grammer looked relaxed and at ease pushing a shopping cart and carrying toys for his kids.
Kayte, originally from Hartlepool in northern England, looked casual yet elegant as she walked beside him in sandals and a sweater.
The whole vibe was less “Hollywood star” and more “hands-on dad,” and it’s clear that Grammer is embracing this slower, more grounded season of life.
