Miguel Inacio, the latest addition to the Kaizer Chiefs squad, has already found a few standout players who have made a significant impression on him.

The Angolan defender joined the Chiefs last month and has been fully involved in the team’s final preparations for the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.

Inacio is one of seven new faces at Amakhosi, alongside players like Bongani Sam, Bradley Cross, Rushwin Dortley, Njabulo Blom, Gaston Sirino, and Fiacre Ntwari.

With the team hoping to bolster their defense after conceding 33 goals over the past two seasons, Inacio is expected to bring some much-needed leadership at the back.

Admiration for Key Players

Inacio has singled out four teammates for their impressive skills and qualities.

He’s particularly taken with Ashley Du Preez, Samkelo Zwane, Yusuf Maart, and Ranga Chivaviro.

Each player, he notes, brings something unique to the table that challenges and inspires him.

According to Inacio, Du Preez’s speed and agility are pushing him to refine his defensive positioning.

He’s also been impressed by Zwane’s calmness and skill on the ball, acknowledging that he has a lot to learn from him.

Maart’s role as captain and his leadership are also noteworthy, while Chivaviro’s strength and physicality have made training sessions more competitive and insightful.

Learning and Growth

Inacio shared his thoughts with journalists, emphasizing how he’s eager to absorb lessons from his new teammates. “They are all very technical, and I will learn a lot from them,” he said.

“For example, Ashley Du Preez is someone I will learn from because I have to chase him in training.

Samkelo Zwane is very technical and comfortable with the ball.

Yusuf Maart is a leader, and Ranga Chivaviro is tough to handle in training due to his strength.

We’ll all benefit from each other’s skills.”

Looking Ahead

Inacio’s positive remarks reflect the encouraging atmosphere at Naturena.

He’s keen to make a strong impression in his new role and hopes to start on a high when the Chiefs face Marumo Gallants on Saturday at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.
