The judge in Johnny Depp’s defamation trial continues to shut down questions by Amber Heard’s attorney, Elaine Bredehoft, as Johnny Depp’s lawyer, Camille Vasquez, calls objections.
An objection by leading refers to halting an improper form of questioning where an attorney appears to suggest an answer from a witness on the stand.
A leading question can only be asked to opposing parties, therefore, Bredehoft cannot ask a leading question to Heard.
Vasquez has also called for questions to be thrown out due to lack of foundation, which refers to when a party tries to enter evidence at a trial without properly demonstrating a factual or legal basis for why the court should see or hear the evidence.
The judge has agreed to nearly all of Vasquez’s objections. ohnny Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez ended her cross-examination of Amber Heard by questioning the Aquaman actor about allegations that she abused her ex-girlfriend, Tasya van Ree.
‘Johnny Depp isn’t the only partner of yours that you’ve assaulted,’ Vasquez asked referening allegations that Heard hit Ree in 2009.
‘I’ve never assaulted any partner,’ Heard insisted.
Ree has said the 2009 incident was a misunderstanding and that the charges against Heard were quickly dropped.

Amber Heard claimed she didn’t want to pursue the full $32.5m settlement she was entitled to in her divorce settlement with Johnny Depp.
‘I didn’t want it,’ Heard said. I realized that’s what I was entitled to but I didn’t want it. It’s that simple.’
Being questions by her attorney, Elaine Bredehoft, Heard accuse Depp that he tried to get her fired from her role in Aquaman.
It was one of the few questions Heard could answer from her attorney as Bredehoft’s question continue to be thrown out following Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez’s objections.
Amber Heard’s attorney Elaine Bredehoft has begun questioning her client, asking about the injuries she sustained on January 15, 2015, while in a relationship with Johnny Depp.
As she attempted to ask questions, Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez continued to cut her off by calling objections and hearsays over the relevance of the questions and Heard’s ability to testify about the degree of the injuries.
‘I have a significant amount of scar tissue in my nose,’ Heard told the court. ‘I have a significant amount of trouble breathing at night
‘I’ve been putting off having surgery for it.’
As Vasquez kept calling out the line of questioning, Bredehoft could be seen frustrated.
‘I’m trying,’ an exasperated Bredehoft said.
Amber Heard claims Johnny Depp can’t look her in the eye in heated defamation trial because he’s ‘guilty.’
‘He knows he’s guilty, he knows he’s a liar,’ Heard said. ‘Otherwise why couldn’t he look at me. I survived that man and I’m here.’
Depp began speaking to lawyers as Amber grows emotional during her cross-examination.
The court also heard that Johnny Depp had allegedly slipped Amber Heard his new phone number during mediation.
Amber Heard appeared to admit that TMZ knew ahead of time about her divorce filing with Johnny Depp.
In a clip from her deposition trial, Heard discussed how she prepared to let Depp know that she was filing for divorce and how she wanted him to find out properly and not through TMZ.
‘So he finds out about the divorce filling, or my intention to do so, from some other news source beside TMZ, which was alerted,’ Heard had said before stopping abruptly.
Heard claims she had nothing to do with TMZ’s inside scoop on her divorce filing and on a video of Depp attacking his kitchen cabinet.
‘If I wanted to leak things about Johnny, I could’ve done that in a much more successful way. In a bigger way,’ Heard said.
Amber Heard had snapped at Johnny Depp’s former attorney Adam Waldman, who she accuses of leaking stories about her relationship with Depp in an attempt to ruin her career.
Waldman had claimed Heard had makeup on when she posted pictures of the injuries she allegedly sustained from Depp.
In March 2021, Waldman tweeted at Heard, who was in a campaign of L’Oréal at the time, about her wearing make up.
The jury then saw a tweet Heard posted on March 26, 2021, which read, ‘Yes Mr. Waldman, I am wearing makeup on this occasion but on every occasion you will still be short.’

Amber Heard called Johnny Depp a ‘baby’ when he complained about her punching him when he tried to leave a fight.
‘I did not punch you,’ Heard told Depp in a recording presented about the fight.
‘I did not deck you. I just hit you,’ Heard said as she mocked Depp for complaining about getting hit.
‘That’s the difference between me and you, you’re a f**king baby.’
Depp told her that he just wanted to leave and not fight, and Heard called him the ‘bigger man’ in the argument, but proceeded to keep mocking him.
She also apologized for hitting him in the head with a door, but said that she did mean to hit him.
Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez said the Aquaman actor punched Depp in the jaw during the argument.
Amber Heard said she was defending herself whenever she allegedly struck Johnny Depp.
Heard said she was fighting back during the instances where she hit the Pirates of the Caribbean actor.
‘It came after years of not defending myself,’ Heard told the court.
Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez then played a tape where Heard warned Depp, ‘I can’t promise you I won’t get physical.’
She also told Depp that she gets ‘so mad, she loses it.’
Heard claimed she said it because Depp was allegedly instigating a fight.
Johnny Depp has avoided making eye contact with Amber Heard throughout their blockbuster trial because he vowed in 2016 that she would never see his eyes again, the court has heard.
The actress testified yesterday that she has tried to look her ex-husband in the eyes during their $100million defamation trial but he has avoided her gaze.
Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez asked Heard on the stand: ‘Mr. Depp hasn’t looked at you once in this entire trial, has he?’
Heard replied: ‘Not that I’ve noticed, no.’
Vasquez then said: ‘You’ve looked at him though many times, haven’t you.’
After Heard confirmed she had, Vasquez then said: ‘He promised you would never see his eyes again, isn’t that true.’
The Aquaman star replied: ‘I don’t recall that.’
Amber Heard and Jonny Depp’s ‘love journal’ was revealed earlier today with messages between the two.
In a diary entry on May 22, 2015, Heard wrote: ‘True love isn’t about just the madness of passion or picking the safety of peace. It’s about having both. I have seen in you the true bones of friendship and respect but I still more than ever want to rip you apart, devour you and savor the taste.’
When pressed by Depp’s attorney Vasquez on the contents, Heard told the jury it was a ‘love note’ to Depp, whose own writings in the book were redacted.
Heard has previously claimed that during her honeymoon with Depp in July 2015 aboard the Orient Express he brutally assaulted her.
But the court was shown a note in the diary from July 22 that year which read: ‘My husband, happy honeymoon.’
Amber Heard claimed there was an orchestrated smear campaign against her after she spoke out about the allegedly violence she suffered under Johnny Depp.
Heard said she lost out on a L’Oréal makeup campaign and faces a petition to be dropped from a role in Aquaman 2, the latter of which would see her booted off DC’s Justice League cinematic universe.
Heard said Loreal ‘suspended using my material,’ in their campaign and that she was axed from publicity for TV show The Stand.
She also hasn’t heard anything for the schedule for Aquaman 2, her role in which has been reportedly trimmed down in editing.
‘They can’t use me because of all of the online attention that generated,’ Heard said.
She also blamed Depp’s former lawyer, Adam Waldman, for leaks to press.
Vasquez said: ‘A lot of reasons you’re no longer active in these endeavors…there was a lot of publicity about your relationship with Mr. Depp, a lot of really negative publicity.’
Heard replied, ‘There’s been an ongoing smear campaign, an orchestrated smear campaign.’
Vasquez questioned the claim: ‘An ongoing negative publicity campaign? You have no evidence of that.’
Heard: ‘Just look me up, you’ll see.’
Amber Heard said she didn’t check the link of the op-ed piece she wrote for the Washington Post, which had a headline: ‘I spoke out against sexual violence.’
The headline suggested that Heard was a victim of sexual abuse while together with Johnny Depp before she made her allegations against him.
Depp’s lawyer Camille Vazquez asked why she didn’t ask the Washington Post to change the headline.
Heard said she didn’t see the link and did not feel she needed to reach out to the Washington Post.
Amber Heard has claimed a 2015 snap of Johnny Depp sporting two black eyes on their honeymoon was photoshopped.
The actress told a court in Fairfax, Virginia, on Thursday: ‘I’ve seen this pictured before, and he’s not injured in it. This one is photoshopped.’
Heard also claimed that Depp abused her during the trial.
