A Shocking Case: Murderer Granted Stay in the UK
In a stunning turn of events, an illegal immigrant who brutally murdered his wife has been allowed to remain in the UK, after claiming he would face deadly consequences if deported back to his home country of Turkey.
This controversial ruling has sparked outrage, with many questioning how someone who entered the UK illegally, committed a violent crime, and was set for deportation could be granted such a decision.
The Crime and Its Aftermath
KD, whose identity has been withheld, arrived in the UK illegally in 2001 with his wife.
They had applied for political asylum, but their request was rejected.
Despite the refusal, the couple stayed in the country, and by 2005, KD was running a kebab shop in London.
It was during this time that he discovered his wife had been chatting with another man online.
His fury over the situation escalated when he found she was also wearing a low-cut top.
In a violent outburst, KD stabbed her ten times before calling friends to confess to the murder.
At trial, the Old Bailey heard that KD’s wife had belittled him for being infertile, even telling him she wanted to leave because he couldn’t provide her with a child.
KD was sentenced to life in prison for the murder, with a minimum term of 12 years.
He was released in 2018 after serving his sentence.
The Legal Battle for Deportation
After his release, KD’s case took another dramatic turn.
Due to the serious nature of his crime, he was eligible for deportation.
The Parole Board even classified him as a high-risk individual.
However, KD filed for asylum again, claiming that returning to Turkey would put his life in danger due to a “blood feud.
” His defense argued that two of his relatives had been murdered in revenge attacks and that KD would likely be the next target.
Despite the Home Office’s argument that KD posed a danger to the community and should be deported, the tribunal judge ruled in his favor.
The judge found it believable that KD’s wife’s family would seek revenge for her death, and thus, he would not be safe in Turkey.
The decision means KD will be allowed to remain in the UK.
The Controversy and Public Outcry
The ruling has sparked outrage among many, including a source who described the case as “an absolute farce.
” They questioned the logic behind allowing someone who had illegally entered the UK, murdered their spouse, and was supposed to be deported to stay in the country because of a supposed risk in their home country.
The case is the latest in a series of immigration-related controversies that have raised concerns about the country’s handling of criminal immigrants.
In a separate but related case, the Home Office recently decided to allow Donovan Reid, a Jamaican man convicted of wounding, to remain in the UK because his daughter refused to go to school.
Despite being ordered for deportation, Reid successfully appealed on human rights grounds.
This, too, has led to public frustration over the immigration system and its handling of criminal cases.
