Mr. Idowu Johnson, Director/CEO of the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to developing and promoting Arts and Culture in the State.

Johnson disclosed this during the Egbe Agbaye’s visit to his office, emphasising that the Council’s mission is to promote the State’s cultural values to the outside world.

The government is prepared to assist the next 10th anniversary of the Olokun Festival with regatta boat branding and a troupe performance, he said.

“The promotion of Lagos cultural values, both indigenous and traditional, is very key to the socio-economic development of the State in line with the T.H.E.M.E.S agenda of the present administration”, Johnson stated.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation and Oba Egbe Agbaye, His Majesty Erujeje of Akokoland, revealed that the purpose of the visit was to congratulate the Director on his appointment as Head of the Council and to solicit the state government’s support for the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Olokun festival, which is scheduled to take place next year.
