Accountant General of the Federation Denies Age Falsification and Corruption Allegations

Oluwatoyin Madein, the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), has vehemently denied the allegations leveled against her, including claims of age falsification and accepting cash inducements.

These allegations were brought forward by aggrieved directors within the Office of the AGF, who have since lodged complaints with several government authorities.

AGF Refutes Age Falsification and Bribery Claims

One of the primary accusations against AGF Madein is the alleged manipulation of her age to secure her appointment as the head of the Treasury House.

The petitioners claim that she adjusted her birthdate from March 7, 1963, to March 7, 1965, in order to extend her years of service.

Additionally, she has been accused of bribing her way into the position, disregarding her second-place ranking in a professional examination conducted for shortlisted directors.

AGF’s Response Through Her Spokesperson

In response to these serious allegations, Oluwatoyin Madein, represented by her spokesperson Bawa Mokwa, categorically denied any wrongdoing.

She stated that her records can be verified through the documents she has already submitted to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

Madein expressed her lack of surprise regarding the allegations, citing the competitive and highly sought-after nature of her office, which often makes it a target for unwarranted attacks.

Conclusion: Denial of Allegations

The AGF’s strong denial of the age manipulation and bribery accusations underscores her commitment to maintaining her integrity and reputation in her role as the head of the Treasury House.

These allegations, brought forward by aggrieved directors, have raised questions about the selection process and practices within the Office of the AGF, but Madein remains steadfast in refuting the claims against her.

The ongoing investigations and responses from relevant authorities will determine the outcome of this controversy.
