A Life-Altering Moment: Losing Sight at Age 11

Recalling the incident that changed her life, Precious narrated how she lost her sight at the age of 11 while solving a math problem in class, suddenly finding herself in complete darkness.

The Quest for Answers and Diagnosis

Her struggle led her to seek medical help, visiting multiple hospitals in search of a diagnosis for her sudden blindness. Despite various medical consultations, she remained without a concrete diagnosis until foreign doctors diagnosed her with glaucoma.

Education Despite Challenges

Undeterred by her condition, Precious persevered, seeking education and an opportunity to overcome her disability. Her education faced numerous hurdles, forcing her to pause her studies for several years.

Introduction to Special Education Centre and Academic Journey

In 2018, evangelists introduced her to the Oji River Special Education Centre, where she underwent remedial courses using learning aids. This opportunity enabled her to enroll at St. John of God Secondary School, where she completed her secondary education.

Unexpected Achievement and Recognition

Currently a 100-level student of Guidance and Counselling, Precious expressed her surprise at being named the best physically challenged candidate in the WAEC exams.

Her dedication and hard work earned her previous recognition as the 2022 Best Art Student at St. John of God Secondary School. This recent honor reinforced her belief that diligence pays off despite challenges.
