Current head coach, Broos, had a fantastic start to his run as Bafana coach. However, he has now faced a string of disappointing results. First, we failed to qualify for the World Cup. Since then, matters have gone from bad to worse for the national side.
A goalless draw against Guinea followed by a 5-0 annihilation at the hands of the French has SA fans pretty frustrated with Broos.
It’s not just the recent results but some bizarre selections too. Not starting Keagan Dolly against Ghana when all we needed was a draw and he was in top goal-scoring form.
He has also left out several Mamelodi Sundowns stars that deserve to play, namely, Andile Jali. His experience and composure was missed against France and he is one of the top players in the DStv Premiership.
Speaking of top players, Bafana Bafana and PSL legend Benni McCarthy is now available. He parted ways with AmaZulu but made his mark at the club, making history on several occasions.
He took a relegation threatened side to second – above Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates for the first time in their history!
Not only that but he took them to their maiden CAF Champions League. Imagine what McCarty can achieve with this group of players… McCarthy with Percy Tau would work wonders!
They are young and hungry but they need guidance from an experienced veteran.
There is no body better than McCarthy, he has experience at the highest level as both a coach and player.
When it comes to motivating and bringing the best out of his players, he flourishes too.
Watch out Broos, SA has high expectations and a legend lurking in the shadows…
