Babajimi Benson from Ikorodu, Lagos State, took the initiative to nominate Kalu for the position of Speaker.
This nomination received the support of Khadijat Bukar Abba Ibrahim from Yobe State, who seconded the motion.
Benson emphasized the importance of this nomination in terms of inclusivity and addressing perceived marginalization within the House.
